Piazza Poggi
Passiamo l'Arno e ci trasferiamo "diladdarno", a San Niccolò per vedere il confronto di quella che è Piazza Poggi (in onore all'architetto che ha progettato il Piazzale Michelangelo e le Rampe) ma che in passato si chiamava Piazza delle Molina (dalla presenza degli antichi mulini). Notiamo due sostanziali differenze: la Torre San Niccolò (del 1329) senza la merlatura, aggiunta nell'800 e, sulla destra, l'edificio chiamato "Fabbrica dell'acqua" (o anche "Casa dell'Acqua") ossia l'acquedotto che venne inaugurata proprio il 3 giugno del 1877 e fu abbattuta nel 1959 quando venne creato quello dell'Anconella.
We pass the Arno and we move to "diladdarno", in San Niccolò to see the comparison of what is Piazza Poggi (in honor of the architect who designed Piazzale Michelangelo and the Ramps) but which in the past was called Piazza delle Molina ( from the presence of the ancient mills). We note two substantial differences: the Torre San Niccolò (from 1329) without the battlements, added in the 19th century and, on the right, the building called "Water Factory" (or also "Water House") or the aqueduct which was inaugurated on June 3, 1877 and was demolished in 1959 when the Anconella one was created
